Hi Everyone, It's May with my drive me insane new blog......This is what I have looked like over the last few weeks..
O my word how hard is it to set up a new blog...VERY hard I know nothing as its all changed I cant even get a followers thingy me gig on the sidebar every time I try Google takes over even though my blog is blogger....Yikes.... Its my Birthday soon so was going to ask for some pennies from my family and I shall get someone to do it for me.... it's a wee nightmare to say the least....
So I have been using my desk honest just could not get it to upload pics or anything so here goes of what I've been up too.......
Some pretty patchwork fabric so I decided I would make a sewing machine tidy pad... and a chair cover to matchI like the summery colours it cheers me up no end these pretty pinks
A very old chair which I use for my sewing
Do you notice the mistake... No seam binding above the pockets... I was so carried away with making it I forgot.... Mind you seam binding and me are still trying to figure each other out... I will get better with more practice I hope....
So any one looking at this post for the first time is probably wondering why I am having a ramble about what I've been up too... Well its all down to the lovely Julia the queen of the worlds desks her amazing blog can be found HERE and all shall be revealed
I missed you all so I am going on a wee look back at your desks over the last few weeks...
Have a happy week all and Thank you all so much for your kind visits x x x

gorgeous needlework May and not lacking anything in my opinion, binding schminding... who cares? Regarding the widgets for blogger DO NOT PAY for someone to do it, use the BLOGGER HELP pages print out the step by step and if you can follow sewing instructions you can follow the blogger guides... dxxx#19
ReplyDeleteHi May, love the image at the top of your blog. Great job with the chair & tidy, I always manage to forget something too when I get really involved in a project. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 XxX
ReplyDeleteHope you manage to get everything sorted the way you want it with your new blog; it must be tough starting again from scratch. Love your chair seat cover, you're right it is so pretty and cheerful. Happy WOYWW Sarah #25
ReplyDeleteHi May, Blogger is owned by Google so there's no way to get away from them, I'm afraid. They want to move away from the Blogger profiles and push new users towards G+ (which a lot of old users don't like and even boycott as I've found out.) Google's plan is to phase out Blogger profiles and move people to G+ but it's a slow process, due to resistance to change by old users. I think you can only have a limited Blogger profile now. I know I couldn't get one - so you might be trying to do something that's not possible for new blogs. Love that fabric and what you did with it! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #23
ReplyDeleteOh May, so sorry to hear about the old blog being over run by bot sites :( And I totally understand how you feel about the new blog set up, it's a pain to do it all over again. Glad you did and are here. If you haven't tried this yet, please do: When you are in your blogger account with settings you can choose your profiles, click on blogger profile to be the selected profile to work with blogger. I am not a part of Google+ and refuse to make a profile there so I only have a blogger profile! But they make it hard as the default setting now is google. Hope this helps and have a wonderful week! Have a lovely week! xo Cheetarah WOYWW#26
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty fabric. I love your blog header photo, such pretty display pieces and love the lacy banner. Enjoy the week
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty happy sewing, you,re so right about them! Meanwhile, you're doing well with your blog. GOogle and Blogger are the same company, and I think in order to have the Followers widget, you may have to join Google+!
ReplyDeleteTechnology is great when it's doing what we want isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you've used and I'm impressed with your stitch skills

Aww what a pretty and stylish idea! I especially like the matching chair pad with the antique white chair. pretty! Confession: I have had a habit for years of hand stitching my seam binding. I'm not kidding.

ReplyDeleteChanging/adapting blogs can be a right pain, I'm sorry to hear that you're getting grief. That chair looks great now, what a difference using that pretty fabric has made - it's so cheery :-D

Hi May, well I think your new blog is looking very pretty, but I do feel for you having to close down the old one - I would be devastated and totally frustrated with having to go through all that settig up again and I see my blog as a kind of personal diary of what I've been making and doing all these years so it must be awful to lose that. Still, onwards and upwards - we've all found you and that's the main thing! :o) Annie C #21
ReplyDeleteHi May, thanks for the warm welcome. Your shelves are amazing... I really haven't thought my crafting space through properly! I used to love sewing and could quite happily see myself getting back into that. I made some curtains and a cushion for my new granddaughter's bedroom last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Your chair fabric is so pretty.... Thanks for sharing, Heather #27
ReplyDeletewouldn't even have known seam binding was supposed to be where you said, so all is good! I love your happy shelves - they make me smile! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #30

Ooh your patchwork is gorgeous, love the chair! I hope you get your blog sorted out - I am no good with things technical which is why my blog still has the original layout with no fancy picture or anything - I don't know how to do it! xxx
